Rx. et Rz. Rhei Da Huang 15g Clears Heat and reduces Fire toxicity.
Cx. Phellodendri Huang Bai 15g Drains Fire and relieves Fire toxicity.
Rz. Coptidis Huang Lian 15g Drains Fire and resolves Fire toxicity.
With Huang Qin, Huang Bai and Da Huang, for abscesses, lesions, carbuncles, furuncles, burns, swelling and inflammation due to toxic Heat.
Rx. Scutellariae Huang Qin 15g Clears Heat, dries Dampness, drains Fire and detoxifies.
With Huang Lian and Huang Bai, topically for lesions and sores with redness, swelling and pain.

CLINICAL MANIFESTATIONS

  • Boils occur around the face, head, neck and hips
  • At the onset, they may be hard nodes
  • Localized redness and swelling
  • Pain and Heat
  • Later the may become soft with a whitish-yellowish exudate
  • A suppurating in-sized lesion may appear at the top
  • The adjacent lymph nodes may be enlarged
